Clipping Coupons Pays Off
Posted by kim on February 18, 2009
I finally sat down last night with my coupon box (I have the RC Deluxe Coupon File) and weeded out the expired coupons and added the current ones. So, I was actually excited to go shopping today as it’s been a long time since my coupon box has seen sunlight! Here’s a recap of the great deals I got…
Walgreens
Free-After-Rebate Items (my store was out of all but two of the items)
Zucol Cold Care Lozenges plus use $2 off printable coupon for a profit!
Revlon Age Defying Spa Concealer or Foundation
Fructis Wonder Waves Shampoo, Conditioner or Stylers
Revlon Creme Lip Gloss (this is Buy 1, Get 1 Free this week)
Walgreens Multi-Purpose Solution
Thermacare Trial Size Heat Wrap
Remember, you can enter your Walgreens receipt online now and don’t have to send them in!
Yes to Carrots Lip Balm is on sale for $2.76 minus $2 manufacturer coupon + $1 instore coupon = profit if they allow you to use both coupons. They didn’t let me, but I was told later, they should have scanned the coupons in reverse order for the the deal to work. Still 76¢ for good lip balm is a good deal.
Kellogg’s Cereals on sale 4/$10 plus receive $3 in Register Rewards at checkout. Plus you can print out $1 off 2 Frosted Flakes cereal coupon.
Valentine’s Stuff was 75% off! I stocked up candy that didn’t depict V-Day so I can use it for Easter baskets (ie Hershey’s Kisses), along with some of my favorite candy – Russell Stover Strawberry Cream Hearts and Dove Caramel Promises (these are sooooo good). I also got some cotton boxers with a gift bag for only $1.25 – my son will wear them and I can use the gift bag for a gift later.
Menards
Free-After-Rebate Items
Paint Brushes
Liquid Nails
Rayovac Batteries (plus I had $1 off coupons from the Sunday paper = profit)
I used Menards merchandise credit checks from previous rebate offers to pay for my purchase, so I had no out of pocket expense!
Culvers
I met a friend here for lunch, where I always get the $2.99 Snack Pack! I had saved up 10 Team Scoopie Prize Tokens from kids’ meals, so redeemed them for a free soccer ball for Tatym, who is anxious for soccer season to start again! You can also redeem 10 tokens for a free kids’ meal.
Target
Pepsi Products on sale for $3.75 minus $1 off coupon (you now have to register with AFullCup first (it’s free) to use their Target Coupon Generator)
Kashi TLC Soft-Baked Cereal Bars $3.19 minus $1 off store coupon minus $2 printable coupon = 19¢ a box! I purchased 2 in the same order with no problem.
They also have their Valentine’s Day stuff 75% off! I got some cute clothes for my god-daughter, Merin, who’s 3rd birthday is this coming Saturday and some picture frames for my daughters (for Easter presents again).
Walmart
Nestle Toll House Chocolate or Caramel Chocolate Chip Cookies had a Try Me Free Rebate Form attached plus I had a $1 off coupon = Free Cookies plus Profit!
Valentine’s Day stuff was again 75% off here. I grabbed a few more things for Miss Merin, some tank tops for myself, and some pajama pants for my daughters.
I spent $55 on groceries, but used over $20 in manufacturer coupons on staple grocery items.
ShopKo
I ran into here store quick, as I wanted to stock up on “head patches” for Tatym, who gets migraine headaches. They are usually in their dollar section, but none were to be found! Everything in the dollar section was only 25¢ though, so I did find a few useful things.
And I scoped out the Clearance items. Found Sauve hairspray for 62¢ (had a coupon for 50¢ off 2) and Sunsilk shampoo & conditioner for 87¢ (had a coupon for $2 off 2, and the register took the whole $2 off).
I would have kept shopping, but I had to get home for confirmation carpooling duties!
