My kids get sick of me talking about “when I was a kid” when I try to tell them just how lucky (and spoiled) they are. For instance, when I was a kid, I had really bad eyesight, worse than any of my children do. I longed for contacts to rid myself of the “coke bottle” glasses. Once I convinced my mom I was responsible enough to wear them, I had to save enough money to buy them myself!
