College Textbooks Online for Less

My son, who is attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, forwarded me an email from the University Bookstore with a list of college textbooks that he needs for his registered classes this fall – over $500! I printed out the list and set out to find the required books for less. I found the best prices via Amazon’s Marketplace. Here’s an example of the savings from Taylor’s Computer Science and Geography classes (yes, I was too lazy to type out all the books/classes, but you get the idea)…

I saved almost 50%! To see the “Marketplace” prices, click on the title of the book, then under the main price, click on the new &/or used links.
If Amazon doesn’t have the book you need (make sure it’s the right Edition), I suggest these other online stores (click on each link to see special deals/coupons for each)…

You can also use http://www.bigwords.com They are a textbook search engine that searches all the online retailers and rental sites (including those already mentioned here) to find you the best prices for your books. You can specify whether you want to search for used, new, or both types of books. The best part is that you can even use them at the end of the semester to sell your books too!
