Once in awhile, I have Words of Wisdom

Posted by kim on October 25, 2005

It always seems I tend to run out of ink in my printer when I want to print something important, like postage (or Heaven forbid a coupon with a one print limit). Luckily, if you use Stamps.com and the postage doesn’t print correctly, you can request a refund. If it is over a certain amount, you have to mail in the unused article, but at least you are only out 37¢.

Did you hear that first class postage rates are due to rise from 37¢ to 39¢ come January 2006? Their reasoning is the rise of fuel costs. Makes sense I guess. I’m just glad the inflation rate of all other goods doesn’t increase as much as postage tends to.

So, I did some comparison shopping on ink cartridges for my Hewlett Packard Deskjet 3520. I checked all of the Discount Ink Stores listed. Most of them carry recycled / remanufactured cartridges so they sell for less. But can you believe, I decided to check out the Hewlett Packard store, and I could get a Brand New Cartridge for even less than the refilled cartridges?! Plus I’m getting Overnight FREE Shipping! I’ll be up and printing again tomorrow – for less!

On a final note, I was making brownies tonight and realized I was out of vegetable oil. I thought I could substitute apple sauce, but “googled” it to make sure. I found How to Substitute Missing Ingredients that I will bookmark for future reference so I don’t have to bug my neighbors all of the time to borrow ingredients.
