Free Entertainment & More at your Local Library

Posted by kim on July 1, 2005

In a town nearby, the library is cracking down on people not returning library books and/or not paying their overdue fines by actually taking them to court and throwing the violators in jail for three days!

Luckily our city library is a little more lenient, as I got a call that my youngest daughter never returned a book she checked out last month. I thought we had returned that book, but according to them, I thought wrong. We searched the house high and low to no avail.

So, I called and asked if I could just buy a new book to replace that one. They said yes, and if I buy it new, I won’t get charged any late fees. The list price was $12.99 which I could pay to them or else buy it elsewhere if I could get it cheaper. Me being the bargain shopper, of course, I can get it cheaper!

I was able to find the exact book Brand New on Half.com for $4.00! I highly encourage anyone looking to buy a book, to check out Half.com as I’ve found the best deals there.

I also encourage everyone to check out their local library for free entertainment (if you return the items on time!). Our library has a huge selection of Videos and DVDs, even New Releases, that my kids love to watch. Plus they sponsor free activities, such as Reading Programs and Movie Days, for the kids.
