Shopping for Free

Last year, I deposited all of my refund checks in my kids’ savings accounts, and it totaled over $600. I wish I would have kept track of all the money I saved with coupons, as I’m sure it would have been thousands.
This week I have been printing all of the Printable Rebate Forms that offer products Free After Rebate (FAR), also known as Try Me Free (TMF). I have found that most of the products have available coupons that I have cut out of the Sunday Supplement (SS) in the newspaper, so I will end up making a profit on my free items! Only a few companies deduct the cost of the coupon used; most reimburse you the original cost of the item.
The SS also has had a few rebate offers with coupons lately. I still cannot find a store in my area that carries the Scotch Brite Toilet Bowl Scrubber. And I have a huge stockpile of Free Protein Bars and Free Air Wick Scented Oil Warmer Units from the free coupons. The company gets you there by not providing the actual oil to use them! I may try to sell them at a garage sale.
Speaking of garage sales, my town is having a city wide rummage sale next month, and my goal is clean my garage out by then to participate! Some of you may remember the sewer backed up into my basement last year, and everything went into the garage. After I had the basement redone, less than half of the stuff went back into the basement! I guess that is a sign that if we don’t use it, we don’t need it. Plug in your zipcode at GarageShopping.com to see garage sales in your area!
